 NASA Statistical Analysis project


Conversion of NTSB (National Transportation and Safety Board) Data into SAS - providing SAS Programming/Data Analysis support to the Systems Analysis Branch at NASA Langley Research Center. Completion of SAS software code for use with the FAA or NTSB Accident/Incident Database. Conducting statistical analyses of aviation accident and incident data from various government and non-government sources using SAS Base, SAS Data, and Text Miner Software. Reports identify any critical aviation safety areas and issues to be addressed. The report is suitable for an AIAA technical conference and/or NASA-CR. Also utilizing Bayesian probabilities for loss of control (LOC) and maintenance related aviation accidents and incidents.

 VDOT Digital Imaging project


The Commonwealth Advisory Board Meeting Minutes from 1919 to 1970 were archived on microfilm. From 1970 to date were in paper format. These were converted into TIFF images, and indexed for easy search & retrieval through our custom-developed search engine. The database of images & the index database were integrated with the current VDOT web site. The entire database was also provided to VDOT on self-running CDs.

 Northrop Grumman ERP Implementation:


  • SAP R/3 3.1H implementation

    Initially implemented SAP from a Legacy/mainframe environment into SAP 3.1H. Evaluated all Legacy processes, which included planning and scheduling functionality, Construction Schedule, Document Management/Vaulting, Material, Work-Package, Production Control, and Earned-Value Management, pertaining specifically to the New Construction Carrier program.

  • Upgrade from 3.1H to 4.6C

    Analyzed all functionality for planning and scheduling team in preparation of upgrade from 3.1H to 4.6C. Maintained/ supported CAD interface functionality from IBM's Product Data Manager (PDM) to SAP. Developed various ABAP query reports for various SAP modules. Evaluated CAD interface functionality of passing BOMs and Documents from PDM to SAP for upgrade.

  •  Online Digital Transcription


    The Company: A major radiology group in NY, in service for the past 8 years and conducting more than 225,000 procedures annually through their 22 locations in NY. Their administrative office is in Hicksville, NY.

    The Requirement: They required a company to handle the huge volume of voice file generated after each report. Security, Efficiency and Accuracy were critical. Automation for upload of voice files was also a key factor.

    The Solution: Online Transcriptions using our customized DATA ACQUISITION & DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM. This solution covers management of the acquisition and disbursement of medical reports in audio format. The client has 22 clinic locations, each permanently connected to the Internet by high-speed T1 lines. Each location has a LAN consisting of Windows 2000 workstations and servers. This system manages the acquisition of audio reports from individual doctors at these clinic locations, & transfers such reports to the primary database server(s) and their subsequent assignment to various vendors providing medical transcription services. There are three subsystems to the system:


    • The clinic subsystem This subsystem will provide an easy to use interface for the doctors to make their recordings using the Philips Speech Mike. Using a series of intuitive keystrokes in combination with buttons on the Speech Mike, it will automate the doctors' task of creating and uploading the recordings. Using this speech mike enables the doctor to dictate directly into the PC.

    • The server subsystem This sub-system will be responsible for coordinating the files between the clinics and the vendors. It will receive the files that are uploaded from the clinics and provide the ability to assign them to the various vendors. This assignment can be done automatically, based on certain criteria for evaluation of vendors, or it can be done manually.

    • The vendor subsystem This sub-system validates the vendor & upon successful validation displays only the files that have been assigned to the vendor. Similarly, access is provided to the vendor as per the rules thus limiting the vendor access.

    Solution Overview: Voice files are uploaded to the client server in their head office in Long Island. VPN client is used to access the server. The voice files are downloaded from the server in a secure VPN environment and the transcriptions are typed directly into the server. We have the security codes for accessing the server and the transcription rights for Medical Manager, which is on a different server. All Transcriptions are done in a VPN environment, which employs a unique compression & encryption code.


    Output per day:

    • 18,000 voice files / day at an average.
    • Accuracy guaranteed: 98%
    • Turn-Around-Time: 12 hours.
